If your Partner is the 2013 to 2019 Partner Electric, this is your page. That van used Mitsubishi derived running gear and, on the evidence we have, carries a Type 1 AC inlet, so the cable to order is the Type 1 to Type 2 32A in 5m or the 10m. Sources are not unanimous about that connector, so look at the socket on your van before you order. Type 1 has five pins in a round housing with a latch on top. Type 2 has seven pins and one flat edge. Seven pins means you need a Type 2 to Type 2 cable instead.
The e-Partner launched in late 2021 is a different vehicle. It takes Type 2, charges at 7.4 kW as standard with 11 kW listed as an option, and holds 46.3 kWh usable, rising to 50 kWh usable on the 2024 facelift. Nothing on this page fits it. Order from our Type 2 range instead. There has never been a plug-in hybrid Partner, and the BlueHDi and PureTech vans have no charging port at all.
Back to the Partner Electric. Its onboard charger is around 3.3 kW and that number sets the ceiling. A cable cannot push more current than the van will accept, so the 16A and the 32A both deliver the same 3.3 kW here. Take the 32A anyway if a newer EV might join the fleet, because it is rated to 7.4 kW and costs only a little more. Britain runs single phase power at the kerb, so 7.4 kW is the domestic ceiling whatever the vehicle, and the 11 kW quoted for the e-Partner only appears on a three phase commercial post.
Length matters more when the van sleeps in a yard than on a driveway. 5m is plenty when the charge post sits beside the bay. 10m covers a van reversed in, a post on the far wall, or a shared bay you cannot book. The Type 1 to Type 2 cables here are IP55 rated and the 3 pin units are IP67. All carry a 2 year manufacturer's warranty and same-day dispatch on working-day orders placed before 2pm.

Which cable does a Partner Electric need?
The 2013 to 2019 Partner Electric takes a Type 1 to Type 2 cable, 32A, in 5m or 10m. Its onboard charger is around 3.3 kW, so that is what you will see at any post. Check the socket before ordering, because the evidence on this connector is not unanimous and a 2021 e-Partner needs Type 2 instead.
How do I tell a Type 1 socket from a Type 2?
Count the pins. Type 1 has five pins set in a round housing with a sprung latch on the upper lip. Type 2 has seven pins and a flattened top edge. Five pins means the Type 1 cables on this page. Seven pins means the van is a 2021 or later e-Partner and needs our Type 2 range.
Is the 32A cable worth it over the 16A?
Not for speed. The Partner Electric caps at around 3.3 kW, so both cables fill 20.5 kWh in about seven hours. The 32A is worth the small difference if another EV will ever share the cable, because it is rated to 7.4 kW, which is the fastest any single phase UK supply can deliver.
How long does a Partner Electric take to charge?
About seven hours from empty on either Type 1 to Type 2 cable, working from 20.5 kWh usable at roughly 3.3 kW. On the 3 pin cable at 2.3 kW it is about ten hours, which still fits a depot shutdown but leaves no margin if the van goes out early.
Should I keep a second cable in the van?
Many fleet operators do. A 3 pin cable in the load bay means a driver stranded at a customer site can top up from a standard socket overnight at 2.3 kW. It is slow, but it turns a recovery call into a delayed start. Keep the Type 1 to Type 2 on the depot post.
Do I need 5m or 10m for depot charging?
Buy 10m if the van reverses into a bay, shares a post with another vehicle, or parks wherever there is room that night. Buy 5m only when the post sits within a couple of metres of a dedicated bay. A yard rarely stays laid out the way it was on the day you measured it.
