Quick recommendation
Two very different cars now share the Macan name, so check which one you have before ordering. The petrol Macan has no charging socket and needs no cable at all. The electric Macan does, and it takes a Type 2 to Type 2 cable.
Every electric Macan uses the same 100 kWh pack, 95 kWh of it usable, so the battery never decides the cable. The onboard charger does, and Porsche changed it for the 2026 model year. Cars up to the 2025 model year are 11 kW only, with no faster option available. From 2026 the Macan, Macan 4 and Macan 4S can be ordered with a 22 kW charger, and the GTS and Turbo have 22 kW as standard.
At home the answer is the same for all of them. UK houses run on a single phase supply, so 7.4 kW is the ceiling whatever the car, and the 32A Type 2 to Type 2 cable reaches it. That is the one to buy. It refills 95 kWh in about 14 hours 30 minutes from empty, and far less than that from the state of charge most drivers plug in at.
The 32A three phase cable earns its extra cost only on a 2026 GTS or Turbo, or a 2026 Macan with the 22 kW option, and only where three phase posts are available. Those cars finish in about 4 hours 45 minutes instead of 9 hours 45. On a 2024 or 2025 car the same cable still stops at the car's 11 kW limit. Plugged into a single phase home charger it behaves exactly like the standard 32A cable.
The 16A cable is the cheaper option and the Type 2 to 3 Pin cable is for emergencies away from a charge point. With 95 kWh to fill, neither makes sense as a daily routine.

Which cable does the electric Porsche Macan need?
A Type 2 to Type 2 cable. The 32A single phase version is the one to buy, because it draws the full 7.4 kW a UK home supply can give and fills the 95 kWh usable battery in about 14 hours 30 minutes. The petrol Macan has no charging port and takes no cable at all.
Is the 22 kW three phase cable worth the extra money?
Only for a 2026 GTS or Turbo, or a 2026 Macan ordered with the 22 kW charger, and only where three phase posts are available. Those cars drop from 9 hours 45 minutes to roughly 4 hours 45. On a 2024 or 2025 Macan the charger stops at 11 kW, so the extra spend gains nothing.
How can I tell whether my Macan charges at 11 kW or 22 kW?
Model year is the giveaway. Every electric Macan up to the 2025 model year is 11 kW with no upgrade path. From 2026 the GTS and Turbo carry 22 kW as standard, while the Macan, Macan 4 and Macan 4S only have it if the original buyer paid for the option.
How long does a full charge take at home?
About 14 hours 30 minutes from empty on a 7.4 kW home charge point with the 32A cable, because there is 95 kWh to refill. Every electric Macan returns the same figure, since a single phase supply caps all of them at 7.4 kW whatever their onboard charger is rated at.
Does the petrol Macan take a charging cable?
No. The petrol Macan has been on sale since 2014 and has no charging socket of any kind, so nothing on this page will fit it. Only the electric Macan, launched in 2024, plugs in. If your car has no charging socket, you do not need a cable from us.
Should I buy the 5m or the 10m cable?
Take the 5m if the charge point sits beside the parking space and you always park the same way round. Choose the 10m if you park across a drive, share a post at work, or need slack to reach a socket on the opposite side. Longer cables cost more and coil heavier.
