Quick recommendation

This is the large storage bag for EV cables, the one to buy when your lead is too long for an ordinary case. It holds up to a 15m charging cable, where most bags in the category stop at 10m.

Long cables are a different proposition to short ones. A 5m lead coils into something you can carry under one arm. A 15m lead is heavy, it holds a memory of every tight bend you put into it, and once it is loose in a boot it spreads out and gets underneath everything. That is the real reason people who own long cables come looking for storage, more than any worry about dirt.

The bag has a zipped opening and carry handles. The zip matters at this size because a big coil pushes outwards, and a bag that only folds shut will not stay closed. The handles matter because a 15m cable has real weight to it and you want to lift the whole thing in one movement rather than gathering an armful of loose cable.

It is dust and corrosion resistant, which is the property worth having for a cable you keep for years. Grit working into the connector pins is the slow failure nobody sees coming, and a closed bag keeps most of it out. Note that this listing does not state a waterproof rating, so we will not claim one. If you want a lead sealed against rain, our standard charging cable bag is specified as fully waterproof, though it only takes a 10m cable.

Getting a long lead into any bag is easier if you coil it the right way. Lay out wide loops on the floor first and let the cable fall naturally rather than forcing every turn to match, then lift the whole coil in one go. Cable handled that way sits flatter and takes up noticeably less room.

So the trade is straightforward. Buy this one for capacity. Buy the smaller bags for a waterproof seal or a rigid shell. UK orders qualify for same-day dispatch on working-day orders placed before 2pm.

Large EV Cable Storage Bag FAQs

What length of cable does this bag take?

Up to a 15m charging cable. It is the largest capacity bag we list, which is why owners of long leads end up here after finding that standard cases stop at 10m. Shorter cables fit too, of course, they simply leave a lot of empty space inside the bag.

Will a 10m 32A cable fit inside?

Comfortably. A 10m 32A lead is well under the 15m capacity, so there is spare room even with a thick cable. If a 10m lead is all you ever expect to own, one of our smaller bags is a better match on size, and some of those are specified as fully waterproof.

Is this bag waterproof?

The stated specification covers a zipped opening plus dust and corrosion resistance. It does not state a waterproof rating, so treat it as storage rather than weather protection. A damp lead is fine. A cable that has just come off a charge point in a downpour is better suited to our waterproof bag.

Does it keep the boot clean?

It does, and with a long cable that is a bigger win than usual. Fifteen metres of loose lead touches almost the whole boot floor and marks all of it. Zipped into one bag, the cable stops migrating under your luggage and the grime it carries stays inside rather than on the carpet.

How does it differ from your other cable bags?

Capacity is the difference. This bag is built around a 15m lead, while our standard bag and hard carry case are both sized to 10m. Those smaller options add a fully waterproof specification and, in the hard case, a rigid shell. Choose by cable length first, since a long lead simply will not fit them.

Can I store two cables in it?

Two short leads will usually go in together, for example a 5m cable alongside a granny lead, since the bag is sized for far more cable than that. Two full length leads will not. If both cables are 10m or longer, buy a second bag rather than forcing one zip shut.
